A message from Rev. David

Today we light all the candles in the Advent circle. I wish with all my heart we could all be together tonight to light the candles and lift our voices in prayer together, but I hold you in my own prayers as we proceed. Let’s not just light the Advent candles – let’s go even further – light all the candles you have. For tonight we celebrate. The waiting is over. Let’s celebrate together the arrival of this Holy child who changes everything.

Let us pray.

O God, you have caused this holy night to shine with the brightness of the true Light: Grant that we, who have known the mystery of that Light on earth, may also enjoy him perfectly in heaven; wherewith you and the Holy Spirit he lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

I want to recommend again that you check out the services offered on-line from the National Cathedral in Washington. Click on the link for “Cathedral Christmas” and get the pass (no charge) for all the Christmas services and concerts.

May the babe of Bethlehem bring you peace; may the child of Nazareth bring you joy.

Amen.

May the Man of Galilee bring you strength; the suffering one of Calvary bring you courage.

Amen.

May the risen Jesus bring you hope; the ascended Christ a foretaste of eternal glory.

Amen.

The blessing of the eternal and ever-living God, Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit, sustain and strengthen you now and always.

Amen!

Wishing you all the blessings of Christmas your heart can hold!

Yours in Christ,
Dave+
