A message from Rev. Dave
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Yes, I am still saying “Merry Christmas,” since, by the church calendar, Christmas ends the week on Wednesday, January 6, when we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany (also known as Little Christmas). This is the day that commemorates the visit of the Magi or Three Wise Men to baby Jesus, which is believed by some to signify Jesus’s physical revealing to the Gentiles. So today, we, together, celebrate the end of Christmas for another year, and we welcome the promise and joy of another year. Welcome, 2021!
I ask your prayer this week for Elizabeth “Betty” Picket, who passed away after a lengthy illness just after Christmas. I will be doing a private service for her this coming Tuesday. Hold her, her family, and all those who are grieving any loss in your prayers.
Christ is born. The Lord is present. Let us say, Hallelujah!
Happy Christmas, and blessed Epiphany, to you and yours!
Yours in Christ,
Dave+
